Wiers supports the IMTA at Boxing Night

Golden Gloves fights and friendly rivalry at the annual IMTA boxing event

Each year, Wiers sponsors multiple boxers at the Indiana Motor Truck Association’s Boxing Night. It’s a fun opportunity to give back to an organization that matters not only to us, but to our customers and family in the trucking business.

This year, 22 boxers competed in 11 bouts of Golden Glove action, and the two Wiers-sponsored heavyweight fighters battled hard. Wiers boxer Deshawn Ross was the final bout of the evening, and did not disappoint. He brought home a huge victory throwing non-stop “Hay Makers” for all three rounds.

This year’s event brought a record turnout of Wiers guests from B&L Transport, Pepsi, Joyce Van Lines, Action Transport, USF Holland, Muller Welding, Flutes, Planes Moving and Storage, ABC Supply, Advanced Distribution, The City of Carmel, and HP Products.

“It’s a great night I make an effort not to miss,” said Troy Walters of Advanced Distribution. “I love building a closer relationship with the Wiers team and getting the opportunity to network with other Wiers customers.”

Tom Wiers added, “It’s a fun night where we can step out of our day-to-day business roles and get to know our customers on a more personal level.”
