Wiers Fleet Partners of Denver, CO Serves Veteran Community

At Wiers, we have the privilege of serving not only our customers but also our community and those who have bravely served our nation. We hold a deep respect and gratitude for our veterans, and one of our most cherished moments was when we had the opportunity to assist in preserving a significant piece of history—the Vietnam Helicopter Memorial Museum.

A Tribute to Our Heroes

The Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association Memorial Museum is a poignant tribute to the heroes who served during the Vietnam War. It houses a remarkable 53′ trailer that has been transformed into a mobile museum, traveling to various events and locations to educate the public about the role of helicopters during this crucial period in history. These helicopters and the brave men who piloted them played a vital role in the conflict, and this museum serves as a living memorial to their dedication and sacrifice.

The museum features an incredible collection of helicopters, artifacts, and exhibits that provide visitors with an immersive experience into the world of these heroic pilots and crew members. It’s a place of reflection, education, and remembrance—a living testament to the bravery and sacrifices made by those who served.

A Meeting of Resources and Passion

Our journey with the VHPA began when their 53′ trailer met our team of passionate technicians. It was a moment that exemplified the power of collaboration and the impact of individuals coming together to support a noble cause.

Our Denver team, equipped with the resources and expertise to care for the museum, was not just repairing a trailer; they were contributing to the preservation of history. The skills, dedication, and care they put into their work were not only a testament to their professionalism but also a reflection of their deep respect for our veterans and the role these helicopters played during the war.

It’s this kind of commitment that makes us proud to be part of a company that goes beyond the business of trucks and maintenance. We are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others, whether that means ensuring the reliability of a commercial vehicle or assisting in preserving a museum that honors the bravery of our veterans.

If you’re interested in learning more about the Vietnam Helicopter Memorial Museum and the incredible work they do, we encourage you to visit their website: Vietnam Helicopter Memorial Museum or check out their Facebook page here.

The museum’s mission is to educate, inspire, and remember, and they rely on the support of individuals and organizations to continue their vital work. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a veteran, or simply someone who appreciates the sacrifices made by our heroes, you’ll find their exhibits and stories moving and enlightening.

“Lorne and Patrick have been great in helping us move the museum around town.  And, of course, Doug Perine who actually does all the work. You know, I say that in the most appreciative way. It takes a Team to make sure everything moves smoothly. This [last time] was no exception. Doug had the Museum in place early Saturday morning. And picked it up in late afternoon, like clockwork. This means so much to us that it allows us to educate the public on the Vietnam War. Sometimes, it provides closure for those that have lost loved ones during that war and more importantly, provides therapy to our own and those Veterans visiting the Museum. On one such occasion this past Saturday, I got the opportunity to meet ‘Fred’. Fred was looking at some of our artifacts and I could tell that he recognized things as he nodded with an emotional reaction. He had served in Vietnam in the mid 60’s with the 52 infantry, 1 Cavalry Division. He stated that this is his third time to visit us, and it has provided him with emotional support, “the kind you can only get from one of your fellow soldiers”, a unique club of Vietnam Veterans, “Brothers”. A very rewarding experience that we can help others. So , by helping us, you are helping others. Thank you again. I attached a couple of photos of the exhibit at the Rocky Mountain Regional Airport.”
